2017 Gerry Mulligan Day & Contest

The Gerry and Franca Mulligan Foundation is inviting students and teachers nationwide to participate in the first annual Gerry Mulligan Concert and Essay Contest

The concert is a nationwide musical event to be held on the late jazz great’s birthday, April 6th. On that day, young musicians are encouraged to learn about the life and contributions of Gerry Mulligan by joining together in the universal language of music and playing two of Gerry’s most notable pieces, Line for Lyons for Concert Jazz Band and Festive Minor for Quintet, which are available for download to educators and students with a valid school email address free of charge for March (Music in Our Schools Month) and April (Jazz Appreciation Month) 2017.
