THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS, Washington D.C. (April 6, 1999) – Permanent Exhibit
Celebration of the opening of the permanent exhibit of THE GERRY MULLIGAN COLLECTION in the Music Division, James Madison Memorial Building.This unique collection, donated by Franca R. Mulligan, includes Gerry Mulligan’s favorite baritone saxophone, and a large library of musical scores, carefully curated and annotated by the composer. There are many items pertaining to the careers of musicians with whom Gerry Mulligan was associated, including original manuscripts by Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Judy Holliday, John Coltrane, and others.
